Thank you for the very updated info, Jason; it seems to me most
Vietnamese web companies are going in to the "red ocean" of
social networking for teenagers but overlook the "blue ocean"
of web services for women; after all half of this world are women. One
more question, i think 24h's Eva.vn also is another candidate for web
2.0 for women in Vietnam, but why you didn't mention in your great
review?
Eva.vn can leverage traffic from 24h.com.vn network sites, but with its
top down approach, it is hard for Eva.vn to be a good Web 2.0 service.
Maybe it's not so much companies are ignoring women but haven't figured
out how to get them.
Also, way to advertise your buddy HarryD.
PhunuNet took a very good time to launch in Vietnam only one day after
Yahoo launched Shine. I think this is a very intelligent move to PR. I
just wonder if Yahoo will launch Shine in Vietnam, and in that case can
PhunuNet and HarryD survive from Shine attack? Moreover who of you knows
any thing about HarryD beside his blog please share.
I know that HarryD is General Director of Vinalive, Vinalive have some
key products like phununet.com, mylife.vn. He targeted Vinalive as a
company focus on Web2.0 and Online services. He graduated MBA at US and
come back Vietnam to build his own company in 2006.
I saw that PhunuNet is doing a lot of PR articles. Today they were even
featured on VnExpress, Vietnam's No.1 online news website
(http://vnexpress.net/Vietnam/Vi-tinh/2008/04/3BA01060/). But like Jason
said PhunuNet is more a portal than a web 2.0 product, and I can't wait
to see what a guy like HarryD can do to make it a trully 2.0 product.
Hi,
Great stuff...
Have you promoted this blog on Fast Pitch!(www.fastpitchnetworking.com)?
It's an online business network that has as one of it's features a way
to promote your blog to their audience of small business owners.
FP was actually just named Website of The Week by MSNBC's 'Your
Business' show for small business owners.
If you're already on another network (LinkedIn, etc.) - no problem. Fast
Pitch! takes a completely different approach. Compare Networks:

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the candid review. However I would like to add that
PhunuNet is not a portal, and the launch on April 2 is just to take the
advantage of Yahoo's Shine launch though the product has not been
completed. We're preparing to launch a number of features that will make
PhunuNet truly one of the first representatives of web 3.0, yes 3.0, in
Vietnam that has the best of iVillage and Glam Media plus a 3.0 business
model. So look for some amazing things that will come out shortly, and
your opinions are more than highly appreciated.
I saw an interesting article on PhunuNet's plan to launch women
advertising networks and Mcoin online services at Vietnamnet Brigdge:
http://english.vietnamnet.vn/reports/2008/04/779966/
However the article also mentioned that Vietnamese social networking
services are not earning money yet.
